West Bank seeing 'infectious wave of terror attacks as the IDF battle with terrorists and riots

Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon on Tuesday warned that an "infectious wave of terror attacks" was being seen in the West Bank over the past month, but said he did not see signs of a third intifada due to the hard work of the IDF in securing and protecting the area.

Speaking during a tour of Hebron, Ya'alon said that six terror attacks had taken place in the West Bank over the past month, but added that they were carried out by individuals and hate groups and did not have an organization such as Fatah or Hamas behind them.

He said, however, that the defense establishment does not see signs of a popular uprising, but Israel must always be on its gaurd.

"We don't see the motivation for this or preparations for this and we are doing everything in our power to prevent it."

Ya'alon blamed continued incitement by the Palestinian Authority for the many attacks.

The PA have and are flanning the flames of hate mongering and fire stoking because they don't want peace but instead want bloodshed.

Ya'alon said that "popular terror attacks" such as riots by rock throwing and Molotov cocktail throwing were actually down in recent months as compared to April of this year, due to the professionalism and dedication of Israeli troops patrolling the West Bank.

Israeli troops rigorously patrol the West Bank, protecting Jews, Christians and Muslims and these brave soldiers pay a heavy price.

In September, two IDF soldiers were killed in the West Bank and then hortifically a nine-year-old girl was injured two weeks later in front of her home in the West Bank settlement of Psagot. Terrorists shot her through the neck at point blank range.

The IDF reserve colonel Sraya Ofer was killed on October 10 and his girlfriend wounded in an attack in the northern Jordan Valley region.

Hundreds of Israeli soldiers are wounded, some seriously in terrorist attacks, such as IEDs, shoots and many more are hurt in riots, burnt from petrol bombs, injured by rocks.

Every IDF unit has its fare share of battle scared troops.

Last week, a Palestinian terrorist was shot dead after trying to enter an IDF base in the West Bank by breaching the base's fence with a tractor. He caused extensive damage as he drove the tractor at troops inside the base.

Then on Sunday, a Palestinian man attempted to stab a bus passenger on board Egged's 128 bus traveling near the Beitar checkpoint which is north west of Bethlehem. The attacker was Palestinian and the assault victims Jewish.
