SHOCKING: Palestinians burn Israeli flag near Temple Mount

NO RESPECT FOR THE COUNTRY THEY LIVE IN, NO RESPECT FOR THE HAND THAT FEEDS THEM, BUT MORE SHOCKINGLY NO RESPECT FOR THE HOLY CITY.

Dozens of Palestinians, some masked, attempted to torch the entrance to the Lions' Gate in Jerusalem's Old City near the Temple Mount on Wednesday night. The rioters also burned an Israeli flag, and threw stones and firecrackers at police forces.

 

In images and video posted on social media, the rioters are seen burning the Israeli flag, stepping on it and shouting "A million Shahids (martyrs) march to Al-Aqsa."

The clashes started after several dozens of Arab youths arrived overnight to the Lions' Gate on Temple Mount and asked to carry the body of Jihad al-Tawil, a Palestinian from East Jerusalem who died in the Soroka Medical Center two days ago. Tawil was serving three months in prison for traffic violations at Dekel Prison in Beersheba. Tawil, who was diagnosed with cancer, was hospitalized two weeks ago after having a heart attack.

Following Tawil's death, his family claimed he was hurt from violence and tear gas used when the Israel Prison Service broke into his cell block.

 

The police force that secures the Temple Mount prevented the rioters from entering the area and as a result, the clashes broke out.

 

The rioters returned to the Lions' Gate, where they found an abandoned police post and tried to set the door to the post ablaze. There, they also burned the Israeli flag.

 

The Arab youth threw stones and firecrackers at police who responded with crowd dispersal means. The youths fled towards Ras al-Amud.

 

Jerusalem police said no one was hurt in the clashes and no suspects were arrested.

The Temple Mount is regularly guarded by police and security forces and is opened for worshippers from the morning hours until 10 pm.

OK people let's be frank, these talks aren't about peace, they're not about trying to resolve the problems of the Middle East; instead it all about John Kerry bending over backwards, like he's doing with Iran, to appease an ideology of hate. It's about Jew hatred and it's about wiping Israel off the map. 

Obama and John Kerry are helping this happen .

Jerusalem IS the Jewish capital. The evidence is there historically, biblically, in Jewish and Christian script and even in archaeologically proven, yet the PA just won't have it. 

The PA, Abbas and the whole Palestinian cause couldn't give a damn for Jerusalem, in reality means nothing to them, if it did Muslim Arabs would use the area of Temple Mount as a football pitch and they certainly wouldn't riot there.

The Muslim Arabs want Jerusalem for one reason and one reason only: Because it will help contribute to the destruction of Judaism; plain and simple, their life long dream, the goal of their existance. 

Their dream was shattered in 1917 when the Turks of the Ottoman Empire were driven out of the holy city by the British and now that dream has resurfaced in these new peace talks. 

The coming of Obama opened up many doors for the Islamist dream and one of those doors opened up to the falling of Jerusalem and it's conquest by the Islamist hordes. 

Jerusalem is the key and they know it, which is why they it so bad. The 'Palestinian state' 'settlements' and negotiation over land is to their benefit, yes, but the big prize is the holy city. They know that to capture it will spell the heralding of everything they've fought for, everything they've dreamed of and everything that's been pumped into them from birth.

If Jerusalem falls civilisation is doomed as well as Judaism as a religion. The whole Jewish religion, everything it stands for will eventually crumble if Jerusalem falls and with it Christianity. 

Jerusalem is the spiritual embodiment of the Jewish people and without it will be like for Islam to lose Mecca. The only victor in Jerusalem falling will be Islam and the only thing Israel will get out of Kerry's 'peace deal' will be the eventual destruction of the Jewish State.

This we must not let happen, not just for Israel's sake but the sake of humanity. 

NO WAY! Palestinian Authority is demanding that even the Western Wall

Not satisfied to win control of "Muslim" holy sites alone, the Palestinian Authority is demanding that even the Western Wall, globally reocognized as Judaism's holiest site, must come under its sovereignty as part of any peace deal with Israel.

"Every piece of land Israel occupied in 1967 belongs to the Palestinian state. The Buraq Wall, too, will be under Palestinian sovereignty," Palestinian Minister of Religious Affairs Mahmoud al-Habash said in an interview with Israel's Channel 10 News.

Al-Habash went on to assert that under Palestinian sovereignty, freedom of religion would be protected and Jews would be permitted to continue praying at the site without fear of persecution.

Buraq Wall, the term used by Al-Habash to denote the Western Wall, is the Muslim term for the western retaining wall of the Temple Mount. In its later years, Islam claimed that this was the place where the Prophet Mohammed tied his magical horse Al-Buraq after being transported from Mecca to Jerusalem.

In a 2008 interview with Azzam Khatib, then-director of the Islamic Trust (or Waqf) that safeguards the mosques that sit atop the Temple Mount, we were told that when the Muslims first arrived in Jerusalem 1,400 years ago, the Temple Mount area was barren, and no hard evidence of previous structures remained.

"When the Muslims came here they never found any standing building or any culture still alive, so they never threatened any standing building," said the Waqf director. "We are not going to entertain theories about buildings that may or may not have been here before."

Always a fount of contradiction, the Muslim officials later negated their own claims that the Temple Mount was empty in A.D. 600 with their stories of Muhammad's midnight visit to the Al Aksa Mosque that today towers over the southern end of the raised compound.

Pointing to the massive western retaining wall, which if the Muslim officials are to be believed should also not have existed 1,400 years ago, a Waqf guide pointed out for us the exact spot where Al-Buraq was supposedly secured.

The first reservist paratroopers of Brigade 55 broke through the Lion’s Gate leading into the Old City of Jerusalem and reached the narrow enclave of the Western Wall. Having just fought a fierce two-day battle in the streets of east Jerusalem, they grieved for lost friends, and grieved as well for their own lost innocence in what for many was their first experience of combat. They leaned against the Wall, some in exhaustion, some in prayer. Several wept, instinctively connecting to the Wall’s tradition of mourning the destruction of the Temple and the loss of Jewish sovereignty—precisely at the moment when Jewish sovereignty over Jerusalem had been restored.

Several hours later, Yitzhak Yifat, a twenty-four-year-old reservist about to begin medical school, reached the Wall. As part of the brigade’s 66th Battalion, he and his friends had fought in the Six Day War’s toughest battle: Intimate combat against elite Jordanian Legionnaires in the trenches of Ammunition Hill, on the road to Mount Scopus.

This week PA Minister of Religious Affairs Mahmoud al Habbash claimed the Western Wall belonged to Palestine.
The Jerusalem Post reported:

Mahmoud al Habbash demands Western Wall be returned to PA, yet remain open to Jewish worship.

Jerusalem, including the Western Wall, rightfully belongs to the Palestinians, PA Minister of Religious Affairs Mahmoud al Habbash stated in a Channel 10 interview Monday.

“There will not be peace without putting an end to the Israeli occupation that began in 1967. Every piece of land that Israel conquered then belongs to the Palestinians,” claimed Habbash.

Habbash added that “all the holy places, including the Aksa mosque and the Western Wall” rightfully belong to the Palestinian Authority and must be returned as well.

When asked whether Jews will be able to pray at the Western Wall, Habbash said that politics and religion are two separate things and that there will be no religious limitations.

THEY PLANNED TO MURDER A LARGE NUMBER: East Jerusalem terror cell charged with planning attack on wedding hall

Men planned to enter Bayit Vagan wedding hall in haredi dress, carry out shooting attack with mini Uzi guns; suspect Anas Ouisat formerly worked at hall, believed attack would produce a large number of casualties.

The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office on Wednesday filed an indictment with the Jerusalem District Court against an alleged terror cell of four east Jerusalem residents for planning to attack the "Nof" wedding hall in Bayit Vagan, Jerusalem.

The cell included Anas Ouisat, Basel Abidat, Ahmed Sarur and Amru Abado of the Jabal Muchbar neighborhood all between the ages of 19-21, said the indictment.

The indictment's details were as follows: Ouisat and Abidat decided in December 2013, based on nationalistic motivations, that they would carry out an attack against Israeli civilians in Jerusalem and in coordination with terror groups.The four are charged with conspiracy to assist an enemy in time of war.

Ouisat suggested a shooting attack on the Nof hall both because there would be a large number of casualties, between 800-1500attendees, and because he had previously worked there.

They planned to enter the hall in haredi dress in which they would conceal mini Uzi guns and they got an estimate of NIS 50,000 from a weapons dealer.

At some point, Sarur joined the group, including performing surveillance of the hall to plan the attack.

However, he had a dispute with the original two, eventually dropped out and was eventually replaced by Abado.

The head of the wedding hall, Gilad Pinchas, expressed his immense relief and gratitude in an interview with The Jerusalem Post.

"Nof is a place of celebration," said Pinchas, "the indictment is a gift from God.  Nof has top security conditions, and we will continue to consider security a top priority at our hall for all our events and all our guests."

The prosecution has requested to remand all four to police custody until the end of the proceedings.

Shin Bet, police arrest 16 Hamas activists in Jerusalem

Members of Islamist movement are accused of setting up learning program on Temple Mount that caused public disturbances.

A group of 16 east Jerusalem residents was arrested by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the Israel Police on suspicion of belonging to a Hamas cell operating in the capital’s eastern neighborhoods and the Temple Mount, the security service stated on Tuesday.

The Shin Bet said the suspects include activists from the northern branch of the Israel Islamic Movement, who were involved with Hamas at the Temple Mount compound.

The 16 suspects are “prominent operatives with Hamas in east Jerusalem and members of its operations branch, and among the leaders of its activities at the Temple Mount,” the Shin Bet said.

The suspects named include 39-year-old Rami Zachariya Ibrahim Barakeh, a senior Hamas member in east Jerusalem who has served a prison term for membership in the organization. Three other main suspects include a resident of Abu Tor and two brothers from the Old City, all of whom have served prison terms for belonging to Hamas.

The Shin Bet said that while investigating the cell they found that the Islamic Movement was operating educational courses on the Temple Mount and paying people to maintain a presence there, in order to “increase the tension and cause disturbances, especially during Jewish holidays.” They added that the courses were a major contributing factor to recent disturbances in the vicinity of the Mount.

The Shin Bet added that the study program was operated in line with Hamas directives, citing an online video showing Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh praising the study program and saying that his organization is funding it.

The security organization said that the investigation revealed “another effort by Hamas to expand its influence among the Palestinian population in Jerusalem and the West Bank, during which the organization uses Jerusalem and the Temple Mount and the cooperation of other Islamic movements.”

In April, the Shin Bet and Israel Police shut down two Hamas offices in east Jerusalem, both of which they said were part of the Islamic Movement in Israel, and managed from Nazareth and Umm el- Fahm. One of the groups, the Al-Quds Development center had been closed by Israel In 2010, after information surfaced that it was being used to organize Hamas activities in Jerusalem. It reopened in 2012 after the time-limited ban on its activities expired.

After learning that Amara al-Aska assists Hamas operations as well, the Shin Bet moved to close it, and this “led to violence against forces and visitors to the Temple Mount,” the agency said. One of the goals of the center was to prevent Jews from visiting the Temple Mount, the Shin Bet added.

5 Arab teens charged with firebombing IDF base

Youths aged 14-15 allegedly carried out a series of attacks near the Hebrew University campus in Jerusalem

Five teenagers from the Arab neighborhood of Issawiya in East Jerusalem were brought before the Jerusalem District Court on Wednesday and charged with throwing Molotov cocktails at an IDF base in the capital.

According to the indictment, the youths, all aged 14 or 15, were behind several attacks over the past few months on the Ofrit base and on vehicles leaving it to travel along a road that passes around the Hebrew University campus on Mount Scopus.

Three of the accused were charged with aggravated assault, arson, and attempted arson. The other two, who allegedly served as lookouts, were charged as accessories.

In about 10 different incidents the accused allegedly hurled homemade Molotov cocktails at IDF and civilian vehicles using the road and also threw the devices into the base. On some occasions the targeted vehicles caught fire. They also allegedly attempted to cause a blaze at the base by setting fire to a tire placed against the perimeter fence.

The prosecution asked that the three teenagers accused of actually carrying out the attacks be held until trial.

Israeli toddler injured in Jerusalem arab stoning attack

2-year-old suffers head wound as car is pelted by an unknown assailant; attack comes amid rise in West Bank violence

A 2-year-old Israeli girl sustained a moderate head wound on Thursday evening when a rock was hurled at a vehicle in which she was traveling in Armon Hanatziv, a predominantly Jewish Jerusalem neighborhood just over the Green Line.

Paramedics rushed the toddler to Hadassah Hospital in the capital’s Ein Kerem neighborhood. Doctors said the child was in stable condition.

An initial report on Channel 2 said that the stone may have been thrown from the adjacent Arab neighborhood of Sur Baher.

Police launched an investigation into the incident and were searching the area for the perpetrator of the attack.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat called on authorities to crack down on a recent wave of stone throwing attacks in the city. “It’s about time we start treating a stone as a weapon,” he told Israel’s Channel 10 TV.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wished the girl a speedy recovery. “We will find these criminals and bring them to justice,” he said.

The incident comes amid a surge in the number and severity of violent attacks against Israelis on both sides of the Green Line in recent months.

Earlier in November, a couple driving along a road in the West Bank near the settlement of Tekoa were wounded, and their car was destroyed, in a Molotov cocktail attack.

In mid-November, a Palestinian teenager stabbed 19-year-old soldier Eden Atias multiple times in the neck, killing him as he slept in the adjacent seat on a bus at the central bus station in Afula.

The assailant, 16-year-old Hussein Rawarda, had entered Israel illegally in search of work and apparently decided to carry out the deadly attack after failing to be hired by an Israeli employer.

Slightly before the stabbing, former Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin said the Palestinians were ripe for a “third intifada.” However, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said that recent attacks were isolated incidents, insisting that “there is no sign of a popular uprising.”

In March, three-year-old Adele Biton was critically injured when rocks were thrown at her mother’s car near the settlement of Ariel, causing a major accident. She was released from a Ra’anana hospital in July, after nearly two and a half months of treatment in the facility’s intensive care unit.

Accuracy and impartiality failures in BBC report on Jerusalem elections

On October 20th we noted here that the BBC has failed to report on the intimidation of potential candidates and voters in the upcoming Jerusalem municipal elections by Palestinian political groups.

On October 21st a feature on the subject of the Jerusalem municipal elections titled “Jerusalem: Communities up-close” by Erica Chernofsky appeared on the BBC News website’s homepage and on its Middle East page.

The article opens:

“Jerusalemites are preparing to cast their vote – or abstain in protest – in municipal elections. The city is home to the world’s major religions and a host of social, political and economic issues. Here, the BBC’s Erica Chernofsky looks at some of Jerusalem’s diverse communities and the matters which concern them.”

Moving quickly on from Chernofsky’s poetic descriptions of the city, the article gives an early presentation of the standard BBC mantras:

“Despite its charm, Jerusalem is also a source of bitter disputes. It is a divided city, part Arab, part Jewish, and its ownership is still fought over, as ever.

Both Israel and the Palestinians claim it as the capital of their nations. Israel captured East Jerusalem in the 1967 war and later annexed it, but the international community does not recognise this sovereignty.”

As ever, the BBC presents history as beginning in June 1967, with no proper background provided either about the 19-year Jordanian occupation of Jerusalem which divided the city for the first and last time in its history, the expulsion of Jews from neighbourhoods now described as “Arab”, or the background to the Six Day War itself.

Equally predictable is the BBC’s failure to inform audiences that the original PLO Charter of 1964specifically renounced any territorial claims to areas occupied by Jordan, or that the issue of Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state only surfaced in November 1988 in the PLO’s unilateralDeclaration of Independence, or that the Palestinian Authority’s ratification of the law it passed declaring Jerusalem as its capital only took place as recently as October 2002. Likewise, the BBC neglects to inform its audiences of the existence of legal opinions contradicting those held by a supposedly homogeneous “international community”.

In the section of the article supposedly representing the views of the Arab population of Jerusalem, Chernofsky writes:

“There is another sector of Jerusalem society battling to have its voice heard, but most of its population won’t even be voting.

The Palestinians of East Jerusalem are not Israeli citizens and therefore cannot vote in national elections.”

This misleading claim clearly contravenes BBC editorial guidelines on accuracy by concealing both the fact that Arab Jerusalemites have the right to apply for Israeli citizenship if they wish to do so and that increasing numbers of them have already exercised that right. 

The article goes on:

“But they are officially residents of the city, and as such have the right to vote in local elections.

However, most of them will be boycotting the polls out of protest against the Israeli occupation and what they say is discrimination against their community by local government.”

No mention is made of the long-standing campaign of intimidation of potential candidates and voters bythe PLO, Hamas and other Palestinian political organisations. 

Chernofsky continues:

“Khaled Saheb owns a small denim shop in the Old City souk just inside Damascus Gate.

He used to be a microbiologist, but took over his family’s business after his father died.

He complains that living conditions are much worse on the eastern side of the city than on the western, mostly Jewish, side, and longs for a day when the Palestinians will be able to govern themselves in a state of their own.”

Chernofsky’s presentation of the views of her interviewee as representative of those of Jerusalem’s Arab population is of course highly misleading and conceals the fact that according to a 2011 poll, that population holds a variety of opinions which are by no means as uniform as the BBC suggests. 

“According to face-to-face surveys conducted according to the highest international standards, more Palestinians in east Jerusalem would prefer to become citizens of Israel rather than citizens of a new Palestinian state. In addition, 40 percent said they would probably or definitely move in order to live under Israeli rather than Palestinian rule.

44 percent of the Palestinians in Jerusalem say they are very, or at least somewhat, satisfied with their standard of living. This is a very high percentage compared to other populations in the Arab world. Only about 30 percent sympathize with either Fatah or Hamas or with the Israeli Arab Islamic movement. Politics is not a major preoccupation.

Three-quarters of east Jerusalem Arabs are at least a little concerned, and more than half are more than a little concerned, that they would lose their ability to write and speak freely if they became citizens of a Palestinian state rather than remaining under Israeli control.”

The omission of any mention of interference in the democratic process by foreign organisations through harassment and intimidation of sections of the Jerusalem electorate, along with the failure to make any mention of the broad range of opinions to be found among Jerusalem’s Arab population, amply indicates that this shallow and stereotypical BBC article is prompted by political motivations rather than journalistic ones, thus clearly breaching BBC editorial guidelines on both impartiality and accuracy.

Independent’s coverage of Palestinian terror again highlights perpetrator’s family

Last Thursday, Oct. 17, a Palestinian named Younes al-Radaideh, from Beit Hanina, rammed a tractor he was driving into an IDF base north of Jerusalem in an attempted terror attack. He succeeded in breaking through the fence and rammed into buildings and several vehicles, injuring one Israeli, before being shot and killed by two soldiers.

Reports indicate that Younes al-Radaideh is the brother of Marei al-Radaideh, the man who carried out another terror attack involving a tractor in March, 2009, in Jerusalem.

The Independent’s coverage of this latest terror incident consisted of the following photo (and accompanying caption) in a photo story titled ‘Pictures of the day: West Bank simmers as Palestinian anger builds in face of occupation’.

The caption reads: 

A relative shows a picture of Palestinian Yunes Ahmed al-Radaydeh, the construction worker who was shot dead after forcing his way into a West Bank army base.

In addition to the misleading nature of the caption – which seriously downplayed the potentially lethal attack – the Indy’s decision to highlight the family of the perpetrator mirrors their use of photos in a story on July 28 about Israel’s decision to release 104 Palestinian ‘pre-Oslo’ prisoners – a group largely consisting of terrorists who murdered or attempted to murder Israeli citizens.

Here’s the July 28 caption:

The mother of Palestinian Ateya Abu Moussa, who has been held prisoner by Israel for 20 years, hugs her grandson upon hearing the news that her son may soon be released

Additionally, when the first 26 Palestinian prisoners – out of the larger group of 104 – were released the following month (a group which included Ateya Abu Moussa), the Indy covered the story with another photo series depicting the reaction of Palestinian family members.  Here’s the photo they used to illustrate Ateya Abu Moussa’s release:

The caption reads:

Freed Palestinian prisoner Ateya Abu Moussa (3rd R), who was held by Israel for 20 years, hugs his father upon arriving at his family’s house in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip

The Indy evidently didn’t deem it worthy to note that Ateya Abu Moussa had been imprisoned for murdering an Israeli Holocaust survivor named Isaac Rotenberg in 1994.

Whilst, fortunately, no Israelis were killed in the terror incident on Thursday, the decision by Indy editors to again highlight the attacker’s family represents another example of the moral inversion continually on display in British media coverage of Palestinians who attempt to murder Israeli citizens.

15 Palestinians arrested, 2 policemen hurt in Temple Mount clashes

Israeli police fired stun grenades to disperse Palestinian worshippers who threw rocks at them after Friday prayers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, a police spokesman said.

Dozens of officers entered the politically sensitive area in Jerusalem's Old City to break up hundreds of protesters, Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said. He added that two policemen were slightly injured and 15 Palestinians arrested.

The mosque is a frequent source of friction. It was not immediately clear what prompted this clash in particular.

Israeli security forces had beefed up their presence in the area during the holiday of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, which began on Wednesday.

ISRAEL'S DESTRUCTION IS WHAT THE PA HAVE PLANNED - Time for Israelistowake up to what the peace talks really mean for Israel

Israel has proposed leaving intact dozens of Jewish settlements and military bases in the West Bank as part of a package to establish a Palestinian state in provisional borders, a Palestinian official told The Associated Press on Wednesday, in the first detailed glimpse at recently relaunched peace talks.

The official said the proposal is unacceptable to the Palestinians, underscoring the tough road ahead as the sides try to reach an agreement ending decades of conflict.

Surprise surprise 

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because Israel and the Palestinians have pledged to US 'appeaser overseer' Secretary of State John Kerry not to discuss the content of their talks with the media -- a pledge that has largely held up until now.

Obviously this US 'appeaser overseer' wants to vet anything to be aired in case it upsets his and his governments image rather than upsetting anything that might harm Israeli interests.

For their so-called future state, the Palestinians seek the whole West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza Strip, territories liberated by Israel in the 1967 Mideast war, NOT OCCUPIED as the western media likes to refer to it.

With Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opposed to a return to the pre-1967 lines, the idea of a Palestinian state in temporary borders has gained appeal with some Israelis, Israelis who are either just politically naive or liberal left Israelis who are willing to sell Israel to the enemy at the price of enhancing their own image and thus contributing to the destruction of the Jewish State. 

Its reported that such 'a deal' could give the so-called Palestinians independence, while leaving the thorniest issues, such as the fate of Jerusalem and the status of millions of Palestinian refugees and their descendants, to later negotiations. 

Yes we bet it does, because no sooner will this so called deal be struck then the PA will be then hammering on about 'Jerusalem and these so-called refugees, who are in reality political pawns thrown into Israel and used by Hamas and the PA as tools to manoeuvre, be used as leverage for yet another 'slice of the cake' 

The Palestinians reject any notion of a provisional agreement, fearing that a temporary arrangement that falls short of their dreams will become permanent. 

In other words its our way or no way and the violence continues. 

Talks resumed in late July after a nearly five-year break stemming largely from Israeli settlement construction, which despite this being an Israeli issue, seemed to bother the US appeasers in charge more. 

The Palestinians have objected to Israeli construction in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, which is predictably the normal action from them. They say these settlements, now home to more than 500,000 Israelis, make it increasingly difficult to partition the land between two people.

But they don't seem to mind literally 'millions' of non Israeli Arab refugees flooding into these areas, well they wouldn't would they?

After months of US mediation, the Palestinians agreed to resume talks. Although Israel rightly did not pledge to freeze settlement construction, US officials have said they expect both sides to avoid provocative moves. Negotiators have been quietly meeting once or twice a week for the past month or so.

 Nice to know the US has Israel's interests so close to their hearts.

The Palestinian official said formal talks on borders have not yet started, and that negotiations have focused on security matters. He said the Israelis want to retain control of the West Bank's border with Jordan, keep early-warning stations on hilltops, and retain military bases near the Jordanian border.

 Obviously this is unacceptable that Israel is concerned for its own security.

"Israel is using the issue of security to take land," he said. "From the general discussions we had in the last couple of weeks, the Israelis have shown no intention to dismantle any settlement." He said the current proposals indicated that Israel would seek to retain control over about 40% of the West Bank.

 Is this Palestinian official on drugs? 

Of course Israel is concerned about security - it's surrounded by nations that want to wipe Israel off the map and its flooded with refugees who are put there by these hateful nations in an attempt to destroy Israel from within.

'Not seeking a ceremony'

In the previous round of talks, conducted in 2008 under then-Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Israel offered to withdraw from roughly 94 percent of the West Bank, and compensate the Palestinians with the equivalent of 6 percent through a "land swap" that would allow Israel to keep major settlements. Olmert also proposed international administration of Jerusalem's holy sites.

 The official said the Palestinians have proposed resuming peace talks from the point they broke off. Netanyahu has said he is not obligated to accept Olmert's proposals and rightly so. 

94 percent of the West Bank? land swap?

This is Jewish land we are talking about. This is Israel's security.  

A senior Israeli official refused comment on the Israeli proposal, citing the commitment to keep the talks secret.

 "It was agreed between the sides that all public discussion about the negotiations would be through the Americans," the Israeli official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media about the issue.

 Netanyahu's office declined comment, citing the pledge not to discuss the negotiations in public. Likewise, there was no immediate US comment.

 In a statement released for the Jewish new year holiday that began Wednesday evening, Netanyahu said he hoped the talks would succeed.

 "We seek to advance peace with the Palestinians while maintaining our security and ensuring that the peace will be a real and enduring peace. Not a ceremony, not an agreement that we celebrate for two minutes and then collapse," the statement said. "We want a real, genuine and enduring peace and this must be anchored in recognition of Israel as a Jewish state and in our security. This is what ultimately is needed."

These are sincere words from a sincere man, but sadly it's not what the PA want 

Or what Hamas wants! 

 The PA urged the US to put pressure on Israel. Otherwise, it said, "there will be no progress."

 So there we have it. It's our way or no way and their way is for Israel to be destroyed and all these silly peace negotiations are simply a stepping stone to that ultimate goal. 

Earlier Wednesday, Israeli police arrested seven Palestinians after clashes between stone-throwing demonstrators and Israeli security forces in Jerusalem's Old City.

 Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the clashes erupted when about 300 Palestinians tried to block a group of visitors from reaching a sensitive hilltop compound. He says masked demonstrators began to throw stones, prompting security forces to move in.

This is what these peace negotiations bring, discontent among Israelis and a taste of victory for the hate-filled rioters carrying the rocks.
