Terrorism

Glorifying terrorists and terror

Violence

After demonizing Jews and Israelis, including citing Islamic sources that depict Jews negatively, and culminating with ongoing lies and libels that portray Jews as an immediate threat to Palestinian life and existence, the Palestinian Authority foment violence against Jews and Israelis, presenting it as legitimate and even heroic self-defense.

PA terror promotion takes many forms. Nationalistically, the PA actively elevates violence as a valid and heroic means to achieve political goals, while religiously, fighting and killing Jews has been presented repeatedly by PA religious and academic leaders as Allah’s will. On the social level, Palestinian leaders and society honor even the most loathsome of murderers portraying them as heroes and role models: Dalal Mughrabi, who led a bus hijacking in which 37 were killed, has schools, summer camps, and many other events and places baring her name to immortalize and glorify her and her terror attack.

Click to view special report: “From Terrorists to Role Models”

The success of the PA’s promotion of violence is readily evident: A majority of Palestinians support killing and suicide terror against civilian Jews and Israelis. A poll conducted after the murder of eight teenagers who were studying in a Jerusalem high school in 2008, found that 84% of Palestinians supported the murder [NY Times, March 19, 2008, citing the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research].

This violent image of a dagger being thrust into the
Star of David has appeared hundreds of times in a video clip for children on PA TV,
from 2001 – 2008.

Glorifying terrorists and terror

Palestinian society’s habitual glorification of terrorists as heroes and role models is one of its most effective means of promoting terror. In honoring the worst killers, the PA is simultaneously giving approval to murder and enticing future terrorists with assurances of glory and honor if they succeed in killing. Terror and murder become the Palestinian’s ticket to fame, honor and glory.

The terrorists honored most highly amongst Palestinian society are those who have killed the greatest number. Abd Al-Baset Udeh, killer of 30 at the Passover Seder massacre, had a soccer tournament for 14-year-olds named for him. His brother was honored with distributing the trophies. Dalal Mughrabi, terrorist bus hijacker (led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history in 1978, when she and other terrorists killed 37 civilians, 12 of them children) has had summer camps, schools, graduation ceremonies and sporting events named for her, as well as many TV documentaries honoring her. Palestinian newspapers also frequently glorify Mughrabi, as in the Al-Ayyam article which described Mughrabi as writing "the most glorious page of heroism in the history of the Palestinian struggle. [Aug. 2, 2009]. Thaer Hammad, who as a lone gunman murdered 10 Israelis in 2002, was glorified by the official PA daily as “the hero of the Intifada."

This adulation of the worst terrorists and praise for their heroism reflects the policy of the leadership of the Palestinian Authority. This video shows PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, issuing “greetings of honour and esteem” to mass murderers, whom he publicly names, one by one:

“I send greetings of honour and esteem to all prisoners...

Said 'Ataba (serving life sentence for murder in terror attack)…

Marwan Barghouti (serving 5 life sentences for planning murderous suicide terror attacks)

Ahmad Sa'adat (serving 30 years in prison for heading the terrorist organization PFLP; honored on PA TV for planning the assassination of Israeli Minister Ze'evi in 2001, but never tried)

Aziz Dweik (Hamas leader, chairman of Palestinian parliament)

Jamal Huweil (life sentence for planning terror attacks)

Jamal Tirawi (life sentence for café suicide terror attack).

Greetings to you from our people.”

Rewriting history

Rewriting the history of the Land of Israel in order to deny Israel's right to exist is central to Palestinian Authority (PA) policy. Long before it started the PA Terror Campaign (the "Intifada," 2000-2005), the PA was fighting a history war – erasing Jewish history and replacing it with a fabricated Palestinian history. This rewriting has two central goals:

1- Erase the Jewish nation's 3,000 year history in the Land of Israel;

2- Invent ancient Palestinian, Muslim and Arab histories in the land.

The goal of this historical revision as a political strategy was first expressed publicly at a conference of Palestinian historians in 1998, when rewriting history was linked to the political goal of denying Israel's right to exist:

"Dr. Yussuf Alzamili [Chairman History Department, Khan Yunis Educational College] called on all universities and colleges to write the history of Palestine and to guard it, and not to enable the [foreign] implants and enemies to distort it or to legitimize the existence of Jews on this land... [History lecturer Abu Amar] clarified that there is no connection between the ancient generation of Jews and the new generation."
[Al-Ayyam, Dec. 4, 1998].

Erasing Jewish history in the land of Israel is followed by the PA’s invention of ancient and modern histories that support its political ideology and claim to the land of Israel. The Holocaust and other aspects of Jewish history are alternately denied, downplayed or distorted. Another distortion is to hide from Palestinians that Jesus was a Jew who lived in the Land of Judea/Israel. PA leaders repeatedly define Jesus as a Palestinian who preached Islam, thus denying not only Jewish history, but also the history and legitimacy of Christianity.

Citing numerous examples, this section will document that these and other historical revisions are an integral part of Palestinian policy and are used to create political ideology.

Jewish history rewritten

Denial of 3,000 years of Jewish history in the land of Israel is the foundation of all PA political ideology. To accomplish this, the PA systematically distorts both ancient and modern history, ignoring both archeology and historical documentation, and replaces them with an odious fictitious history. The new history demonizes Jews, accusing them of having been evil and destructive throughout history, and thereby triggering non-Jews to justifiably hate, persecute and expel them. This rewriting forms the basis for the Palestinian Authority denial of Israel’s right to exist.

When the Wheels Were Burning: An Interview With a Decorated Soldier Who Thwarted a Terror Attack

Lt. (res.) Omri made a fateful decision that saved many lives – he ordered his tank to fire on a vehicle overtaken by terrorists that was racing across the Egyptian border: “Everything happened in a few seconds. I didn’t have the option to miss.”
August 2012: A terrorist cell, seemingly affiliated with global jihad, penetrated Israel from the Sinai Peninsula. The terrorists had killed a number of Egyptian soldiers and seized a truck and an APC (armored personnel carrier). The truck was used as a bomb to explode the fence, and the cell drove the APC towards Israel with the goal to attack Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers.
In collaboration with the armored forces of the “Habokim” Battalion and assistance from ground and air forces, the Southern Brigade of the Gaza Division managed to thwart the attack in less than 15 minutes.
A year later, Armored Corps officer Lt. (res.) Tomer Omri, who received a medal for his role in preventing the attack, recalled that fateful event in an exclusive interview with the IDF website.
Lt. Omri

We had no choice but to hit the target

During the days leading up to the attack, there was great tension: there were warnings that something dangerous could occur. At that time, Lt. (res.) Omri was serving as a platoon commander, and was on his way to perform routine security at the Gaza border.
I was far away from the location of the attack and my radio was malfunctioning. I played around with the radio but all I managed to hear was that some kind of incident was developing. Immediately I understood we weren’t dealing with a routine occurrence. Then I saw a huge explosion on the horizon in the direction of the Kerem Shalom crossing.
I started to travel in the direction of the explosion, and suddenly the radio became clear for a moment. I heard that there was an APC being driven by terrorists that had crossed the border. I began to search for the armored vehicle and quickly it appeared  right before me.
At that moment, what passed through my mind was that I needed to make a quick and serious decision whether to open fire. Because of the malfunctioning radio, I could not contact my superior officer and request permission to open fire. You have to understand, shooting in Israeli territory is no trivial matter.
Lt. (res.) made his decision once he knew with certainty that the APC was not the IDF’s. Such certainty was obtained when he saw that the armored vehicle was firing at cars.
Everything happened in a few seconds. In a moment we had fired the first shell and it struck the target. We were very close, and knew we had no choice but to hit the target.

Exclusive IDF Video of the destruction of the terrorist driven APC

After they fired their first shell, the crew of Lt. (res.) Omri scanned the field, careful to avoid the possibility of a kidnapping.
We were very careful when scanning the area. There wasn’t any time for feeling things out. It was all done out of sheer professionalism. At the time we didn’t understand the significance of the event. We felt simply that we had done our jobs.
Today, Lt. Omri’s crew fully comprehends the significance of that fateful moment, now referred to as the incident of “the burning wheels.”
When I recall the incident, it all feels like a distant dream. I don’t feel like I was there and participated in such an important thing.
During the attempted attack, many different forces tried to take down the terrorist driven APC, including the Desert Reconnaissance Battalion and the Air Force. Yet in the end, it was the tank shell of Lt. (res.) Omri that brought the APC to its explosive halt. This fact is a source of great pride for the decorated lieutenant..
Everyone tried to fire at it, and in the end it was the tank shells that destroyed the APC.
Lt. (res.) Omri reluctantly joined the Armored Corps, having preferred to be in infantry. But now he says he has no regrets about where he ended up.
This event shows to everyone the great importance of tanks, and proves their great worth as military weapons.
For his participation in thwarting the attack, Lt. (res.) Omri was awarded the medal of the Southern Command, by Maj. General Tal Russo.
When I was informed that I was receiving the medal, I thought about one thing: how happy my parents would be.

20 Obama Quotes About Islam Contrasted With 20 Obama Quotes About Christianity

By Michael Snyder, on September 27th, 2013

Obama messiah

You are about to read some of the most shocking quotes that Barack Obama has ever uttered in public.  A few of these have been widely circulated, but most of them are very obscure.  Even though he claims to be a Christian, throughout his political career Obama has repeatedly attacked traditional Biblical Christianity and he has a very long history of anti-Christian actions.  In public speeches he has repeatedly cast doubt on the Bible, he has repeatedly stated that he does not believe that Jesus is necessary for salvation, and he has consistently said that he believes that all “people of faith” believe in the same God.  At the same time, Obama has always referred to Muhammed as “the Prophet”, he has always expressed great love and respect for Islam, and he has even removed all references to Islam from terror training materials used by federal government agencies.  So what in the world does “the leader of the free world” actually believe?  Read the quotes below and decide for yourself…

20 Quotes By Barack Obama About Islam

#1 “The future must not belong to those who slander the Prophet of Islam”

#2 “The sweetest sound I know is the Muslim call to prayer”

#3 “We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world — including in my own country.”

#4 “As a student of history, I also know civilization’s debt to Islam.”

#5 “Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance.”

#6 “Islam has always been part of America”

#7 “we will encourage more Americans to study in Muslim communities”

#8 “These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.”

#9 “America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.”

#10 “I made clear that America is not – and never will be – at war with Islam.”

#11 “Islam is not part of the problem in combating violent extremism – it is an important part of promoting peace.”

#12 “So I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed”

#13 “In ancient times and in our times, Muslim communities have been at the forefront of innovation and education.”

#14 “throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.”

#15 “Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality”

#16 “The Holy Koran tells us, ‘O mankind! We have created you male and a female; and we have made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another.’”

#17 “I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month.”

#18 “We’ve seen those results in generations of Muslim immigrants – farmers and factory workers, helping to lay the railroads and build our cities, the Muslim innovators who helped build some of our highest skyscrapers and who helped unlock the secrets of our universe.”

#19 “That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn’t. And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”

#20 “I also know that Islam has always been a part of America’s story.”

20 Quotes By Barack Obama About Christianity

#1 “Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation”

#2 “We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation.”

#3 “Which passages of scripture should guide our public policy?  Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is OK and that eating shellfish is an abomination?  Or we could go with Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith?”

#4 “Even those who claim the Bible’s inerrancy make distinctions between Scriptural edicts, sensing that some passages – the Ten Commandments, say, or a belief in Christ’s divinity – are central to Christian faith, while others are more culturally specific and may be modified to accommodate modern life.”

#5 “The American people intuitively understand this, which is why the majority of Catholics practice birth control and some of those opposed to gay marriage nevertheless are opposed to a Constitutional amendment to ban it. Religious leadership need not accept such wisdom in counseling their flocks, but they should recognize this wisdom in their politics.”

#6 From Obama’s book, The Audacity of Hope: “I am not willing to have the state deny American citizens a civil union that confers equivalent rights on such basic matters as hospital visitation or health insurance coverage simply because the people they love are of the same sex—nor am I willing to accept a reading of the Bible that considers an obscure line in Romans to be more defining of Christianity than the Sermon on the Mount.”

#7 Obama’s response when asked what his definition of sin is: “Being out of alignment with my values.”

#8 “If all it took was someone proclaiming I believe Jesus Christ and that he died for my sins, and that was all there was to it, people wouldn’t have to keep coming to church, would they.”

#9 “This is something that I’m sure I’d have serious debates with my fellow Christians about. I think that the difficult thing about any religion, including Christianity, is that at some level there is a call to evangelize and prostelytize. There’s the belief, certainly in some quarters, that people haven’t embraced Jesus Christ as their personal savior that they’re going to hell.”

#10 “I find it hard to believe that my God would consign four-fifths of the world to hell.  I can’t imagine that my God would allow some little Hindu kid in India who never interacts with the Christian faith to somehow burn for all eternity.  That’s just not part of my religious makeup.”

#11 “I don’t presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die. But I feel very strongly that whether the reward is in the here and now or in the hereafter, the aligning myself to my faith and my values is a good thing.”

#12 “I’ve said this before, and I know this raises questions in the minds of some evangelicals. I do not believe that my mother, who never formally embraced Christianity as far as I know … I do not believe she went to hell.”

#13 “Those opposed to abortion cannot simply invoke God’s will–they have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths.”

#14 On his support for civil unions for gay couples: “If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount.”

#15 “You got into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

#16 “In our household, the Bible, the Koran and the Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf alongside books of Greek and Norse and African mythology”

#17 “On Easter or Christmas Day, my mother might drag me to church, just as she dragged me to the Buddhist temple, the Chinese New Year celebration, the Shinto shrine, and ancient Hawaiian burial sites.”

#18 “we have Jews, Muslims, Hindus, atheists, agnostics, Buddhists, and their own path to grace is one that we have to revere and respect as much as our own”

#19 “All of us have a responsibility to work for the day when the mothers of Israelis and Palestinians can see their children grow up without fear; when the Holy Land of the three great faiths is the place of peace that God intended it to be; when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra — (applause) — as in the story of Isra, when Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed, peace be upon them, joined in prayer.  (Applause.)”

#20 “I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.”

OFFICIALS: AL QAEDA SEIZED U.S. SUPPLIES AND FOREIGN WEAPONS MEANT FOR SYRIA OPPOSITION - ''MODERATES'

Terrorist fighters with an Al Qaeda-affiliated group in Syria seized weapons and other supplies meant for the secular Syrian Supreme Military Council, U.S. State Department and other western officials confirmed to TheBlaze.
According to reports from Syria, small arms and ammunition stashed at a warehouse located along the border town of Azaz supplied by Saudi Arabia and Qatar were taken more than a week ago by the Al Qaeda affiliate.
A State Department official with knowledge of the incident confirmed to TheBlaze that U.S. ready-to-eat meals, known as MREs, and other non-lethal supplies were taken by fighters with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, known as ISIS. The group is extremely dangerous and threatened this month to “cleanse” towns along the border of any secular Muslims and pro-western opposition groups, according to reports.
“We can confirm that ISIS has seized control of a warehouse containing a small number of U.S. MREs intended for the Supreme Military Council,” a State Department official told TheBlaze.
The clashes between the Free Syrian Army and the Al Qaeda affiliate in the town of Azaz, where the supplies were stolen from, “illustrates how vitally important it is that we continue to provide assistance to moderate opposition forces who share our deep concerns over the threat that extremists pose to the communities within Syria and to their country’s future,” the official said.
In an interview with TheBlaze’s TV “For The Record,” Free Syrian Army ground commander Col. Riad El Asaad said his men would fight Al Qaeda factions that have penetrated Syria. El Asaad said he and many of his men are targets of the foreign Al Qaeda factions in his country.
The State Department official said that despite “extensive vetting to mitigate the risk,” non-lethal assistance can end up in the hands of unintended recipients, such as terrorist groups.
“We continually stress the importance of all countries channeling non-lethal assistance through [the Syrian Opposition Coalition] and [the Supreme Military Council],” the official added. “We are working with our allies to marginalize terrorist organizations and prevent material support from outside the country reaching these groups.”
Still, deciphering between opposition forces and terrorist groups is not simple.
James Carafano, a senior defense analyst, with the Heritage Foundation think tank in Washington, D.C. said the administration’s failure to handle the Syrian crisis early on has led to major failures in current policy.
“The administration is essentially managed to be fueling both (Syria President Bashar Al) Assad’s regime and the terrorist groups in this civil war simultaneously,” Carafano said. “We’re strengthening Assad’s hand and we’re sending non-lethal aid — which is supposed to be aiding the secular fighters — and watching it get funneled into the hands of the terrorists.”

According to a report from the Long War Journal website, two brigades with the Free Syrian Army that operate in Syria’s Raqqah province have joined the Al Nusrah Front for the People of the Levant, the other major Al Qaeda group in Syria.
The Raqqah Revolutionaries Brigade and the God’s Victory Brigade abandoned their secular command and pledged loyalty to the Al Nusrah last week, Reuters reported.
The Raqqah Revolutionaries Brigade is believed to have more than 700 fighters in its ranks. According to the Long War Journal, the “size of the God’s Victory Brigade, which announced its merger with the Al Nusrah Front on Facebook, was not disclosed, but it is said to have 15 battalions.” Those battalions can have dozens to hundreds of fighters, according to the website.

Rebel fighters hold their position on Sept. 26, 2013 in Syrian eastern town of Deir Ezzor.

Earlier this week, TheBlaze reported on a photo of ISIS-linked Commander Muhajireen Kavkaz wa Sham, who along with other rebels, appeared to be donning battle gear and a rocket-propelled grenade inside a U.S. Agency for International Development tent.
“It looks like they got the tent from the raid on the depot,” said a U.S. official, who asked not to be named due to the nature of their work. “It’s not surprising – it happens in war zones – bad guys sometimes get their hands on weapons not intended for them.”

America under threat - Stoning, terrorism defender keynotes D.C. banquet

It was a sellout crowd at the Council of American-Islamic Relations’ 19th annual fundraising banquet this weekend at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va.

And one of the featured attractions was a notorious imam who has variously supported stoning or jailing apostates of Islam, the arming of American Muslims and turning the U.S. into an Islamic state governed by Saudi-style Shariah law.

Siraj Wahhaj is also one of the unindicted co-conspirators of the 1993 bombing at the World Trade Center.

“He has a message of Islam reigning supreme, and mixed with his message is the fact of the U.S. being an evil country, and defending terrorism,” said Steven Emerson, a former CNN newsman who now heads the Investigative Project on Terrorism, one of the world’s largest storehouses of archival data and intelligence on Islamic and Middle Eastern terrorist groups.

Wahhaj, a witness for blind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, convicted in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, is infamous for statements like this: “In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing. And the only thing that will remain will be Islam. If Allah says stone them to death, through the Prophet Muhammad, then you stone them to death, because it’s the obedience of Allah and his messenger - nothing personal.”

Wahhaj has served as a board member of CAIR, a Muslim Brotherhood front group and itself an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing case in American history.

Wahhaj was also the first Muslim to deliver the daily prayer in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1991.

“On that occasion he recited from the Quran and appealed to the Almighty to guide American leaders" wrote Daniel Pipe another expert on Islam in America   “A little over a year later, addressing an audience of New Jersey Muslims, the same Wahhaj articulated a rather different vision from his mild and moderate invocation in the House. If only Muslims were more clever politically, he told his New Jersey listeners, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate.”

Wahhaj told the audience: “If we were united and strong, we’d elect our own emir [leader] and give allegiance to him. ... [T]ake my word, if 6-8 million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us.”

He added later in his talk: “I see the demise of the Soviet Union as a sign for the American people that what happened in the Soviet Union will definitely happen in America unless America changes its course from the new world order and accepts the Islamic agenda.”

On a religion blog, he was quoted as telling his followers that a society governed by strict Islamic law, where adulterers would be stoned to death and thieves would have their hands cut off, would be superior to American democracy.

Wahhaj has also labeled FBI and CIA agents “real terrorists,” according to a report by the New York Post.

“In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing, and the only thing that will remain will be Islam,” Wahhaj said in a sermon.

Don’t let the facts about Islam in America be covered up by slick CAIR lawyers! Join the fight to protect those who would expose the truth!

As WND reported, Wahhaj - who is on record urging a violent overthrow of the “filthy” U.S. government, assisted by jihad warriors armed with Uzis - also gave a fundraising appeal for CAIR at its 15th annual banquet.

The New York City-based Clarion Fund points out Wahhaj was featured on a panel in 2005 titled, “Replacing the Constitution with the Koran: ‘Conquest or Conversion’ through Islamic Propagation.”

As WND reported, Wahhaj, a regular CAIR fundraiser and a former member of its advisory board, is just one of many Muslim leaders affiliated with the group who have been named or prosecuted in U.S. terrorism-related investigations.

“Muslim Mafia” cites internal documents that show Wahhaj remains heavily involved in CAIR business. At last year’s CAIR banquet, Wahhaj led the fundraising, bringing in $210,000 by the end of the night. In 2006, CAIR’s national office enlisted him to work with the group’s leadership to raise $1 million.

In a videotaped May 8, 1992, sermon obtained by the authors of “Muslim Mafia,” titled “Stand up for Justice,” Wahhaj makes it clear that, contrary to CAIR’s media guide, he believes jihad means “holy war,” not merely a “struggle to better oneself.”

“If we go to war, brothers and sisters - and one day we will, believe me - that’s why you’re commanded [to fight in] jihad,” the Brooklyn-based Wahhaj says. “When Allah demands us to fight, we’re not stopping and nobody’s stopping us.”

Wahhaj preaches Islam teaches violent insurrection in “infidel lands” such as America, point out “Muslim Mafia” co-authors, counterterrorism investigator P. David Gaubatz and “Infiltration” author Paul Sperry.

“Believe me, brothers and sisters, Muslims in America are the most strategic Muslims on Earth,” Wahhaj says in the 1992 sermon, arguing the government can’t drop bombs on warring Muslims in the U.S. without causing collateral damage.

The American government’s “worst nightmare is one day that the Muslims wake these people up in South Central Los Angeles and other inner-city areas,” he says in the video.

Wahhaj exhorts the faithful to go into the “hood and the prisons and convert disenfranchised minorities, and then arm them and train them to carry out an Uzi jihad in the inner cities.”

“We don’t need to arm the people with nine-millimeter and Uzis,” he says. “You need to arm them with righteousness first. And then once you arm them with righteousness first, then you can arm them [with Uzis and other weapons].”

CAIR tells the public in its media guide, however, “There is a common misperception among Westerners that the Quran teaches violence.”

“We don’t have a ‘turn-the-other-cheek philosophy’ like the Christians,” Wahhaj says. “Allah has given us permission to fight them” so that the “word of Allah can be uppermost.”

As former FBI agent Mike Rolf acknowledges in the book “Muslim Mafia,” “CAIR has had a number of people in positions of power within the organization that have been directly connected to terrorism and have either been prosecuted or thrown out of the country.”

According to another FBI veteran familiar with recent and ongoing cases involving CAIR officials, “Their offices have been a turnstile for terrorists and their supporters.”

A review of the public record, including federal criminal court documents, past IRS 990 tax records and Federal Election Commission records detailing donor occupations, reveals that CAIR has been associated with a disturbing number of convicted terrorists or felons in terrorism probes, as well as suspected terrorists and active targets of terrorism investigations. The list is long and includes:

Ghassan Elashi: One of CAIR’s founding directors, he was convicted in 2004 of illegally shipping high-tech goods to terror state Syria and is serving 80 months in prison. He was also convicted of providing material support to Hamas in the Holy Land Foundation terror-financing trial. He was chairman of the charity, which provided seed capital to CAIR. Elashi is related to Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook.

Muthanna al-Hanooti: The CAIR director’s home was raided in 2006 by FBI agents in connection with an active terrorism investigation. Agents also searched the offices of his advocacy group, Focus on Advocacy and Advancement of International Relations, which al-Hanooti operates out of Dearborn, Mich., and Washington, D.C. Al-Hanooti, who emigrated to the U.S. from Iraq, formerly helped run a suspected Hamas terror front called LIFE for Relief and Development. Its Michigan offices also were raided in September 2006. In 2004, LIFE’s Baghdad office was raided by U.S. troops, who seized files and computers. Al-Hanooti is related to Sheik Mohammed al-Hanooti, an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

“Al-Hanooti collected over $6 million for support of Hamas,” according to a 2001 FBI report, and was present with CAIR and Holy Land officials at a secret Hamas fundraising summit held in 1993 at a Philadelphia hotel. Prosecutors added his name to the list of unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land case.

Although Al-Hanooti denies supporting Hamas, he has praised Palestinian suicide bombers as “martyrs” who are “alive in the eyes of Allah.”

Abdurahman Alamoudi: Another CAIR director, he is serving 23 years in federal prison for plotting terrorism. Alamoudi, who was caught on tape complaining that bin Laden hadn’t killed enough Americans in the U.S. embassy bombings in Africa, was one of al-Qaida’s top fundraisers in America, according to the U.S. Treasury Department.

Randall “Ismail” Royer: The former CAIR communications specialist and civil-rights coordinator is serving 20 years in prison in connection with the Virginia Jihad Network, which he led while employed by CAIR at its Washington headquarters. The group trained to kill U.S. soldiers overseas, cased the FBI headquarters and cheered the space shuttle Columbia tragedy. Al-Qaida operative Ahmed Abu Ali, convicted of plotting to assassinate President George W. Bush, was among those who trained with Royer’s Northern Virginia cell.

Bassam Khafagi: Another CAIR official, Khafagi was arrested in 2003 while serving as CAIR’s director of community affairs. He pleaded guilty to charges of bank and visa fraud stemming from a federal counter-terror probe of his leadership role in the Islamic Assembly of North America, which has supported al-Qaida and advocated suicide attacks on America. He was sentenced to 10 months in prison and deported to his native Egypt.

Laura Jaghlit: A civil-rights coordinator for CAIR, her Washington-area home was raided by federal agents after 9/11 as part of an investigation into terrorist financing, money laundering and tax fraud. Her husband Mohammed Jaghlit, a key leader in the Saudi-backed SAAR network, is a target of the still-active probe. Jaghlit sent two letters accompanying donations - one for $10,000, the other for $5,000 - from the SAAR Foundation to Sami al-Arian, now a convicted terrorist. In each letter, according to a federal affidavit, “Jaghlit instructed al-Arian not to disclose the contribution publicly or to the media.” Investigators suspect the funds were intended for Palestinian terrorists via a U.S. front called WISE, which at the time employed an official who personally delivered a satellite phone battery to Osama bin Laden. The same official also worked for Jaghlit’s group. In addition, Jaghlit donated a total of $37,200 to the Holy Land Foundation, which prosecutors say is a Hamas front. Jaghlit subsequently was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the case.

Nihad Awad: Wiretap evidence from the Holy Land case puts CAIR’s executive director at the Philadelphia meeting of Hamas leaders and activists in 1993 that was secretly recorded by the FBI. Participants hatched a plot to disguise payments to Hamas terrorists as charitable giving. During the meeting, according to FBI transcripts, Awad was recorded discussing the propaganda effort. He mentions Ghassan Dahduli, whom he worked with at the time at the Islamic Association for Palestine, another Hamas front. Both were IAP officers. Dahduli’s name also was listed in the address book of bin Laden’s personal secretary, Wadi al-Hage, who is serving a life sentence in prison for his role in the U.S. embassy bombings. Dahduli, an ethnic-Palestinian like Awad, was deported to Jordan after 9/11 for refusing to cooperate in the terror investigation. (An April 28, 2009, letter from FBI assistant director Richard C. Powers to Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz. - which singles out CAIR chief Awad for suspicion - explains how the group’s many Hamas connections caused the FBI to sever ties with CAIR.) Awad’s and Dahduli’s phone numbers are listed in a Muslim Brotherhood document seized by federal investigators revealing “important phone numbers” for the “Palestine Section” of the Brotherhood in America. The court exhibit showed Hamas fugitive Mousa Abu Marzook listed on the same page with Awad.

Omar Ahmad: U.S. prosecutors also named CAIR’s founder and chairman emeritus as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land case. Ahmad, too, was placed at the Philadelphia meeting, FBI special agent Lara Burns testified at the trial. Prosecutors also designated him as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s “Palestine Committee” in America. Ahmad, like his CAIR partner Awad, is ethnic-Palestinian. (Though both Ahmad and Awad were senior leaders of IAP, the Hamas front, neither of their biographical sketches posted on CAIR’s website mentions their IAP past.)

Nabil Sadoun: A CAIR board member, Sadoun has served on the board of the United Association for Studies and Research, which investigators believe to be a key Hamas front in America. In fact, Sadoun co-founded UASR with Hamas leader Marzook. The Justice Department added UASR to the list of unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land case.

In 2010, Sadoun was ordered deported to his native Jordan. An immigration judge referenced Sadoun’s relationship with Hamas and the Holy Land Foundation during a deportation hearing.

Mohamed Nimer: CAIR’s research director also served as a board director for UASR, the strategic arm for Hamas in the U.S. CAIR neglects to mention Nimer’s and Sadoun’s roles in UASR in their bios.

Rafeeq Jaber: A founding director of CAIR, Jaber was the long-time president of the Islamic Association for Palestine. In 2002, a federal judge found that “the Islamic Association for Palestine has acted in support of Hamas.” In his capacity as IAP chief, Jaber praised Hezbollah attacks on Israel. He also served on the board of a radical mosque in the Chicago area.

Rabith Hadid: The CAIR fundraiser was a founder of the Global Relief Foundation, which after 9/11 was blacklisted by the Treasury Department for financing al-Qaida and other terror groups. Its assets were frozen in December 2001. Hadid was arrested on terror-related charges and deported to Lebanon in 2003.

Hamza Yusuf: The FBI investigated the CAIR board member after 9/11, because just two days before the attacks, he made an ominous prediction to a Muslim audience. “This country is facing a terrible fate, and the reason for that is because this country stands condemned,” Yusuf warned. “It stands condemned like Europe stood condemned because of what it did. And lest people forget, Europe suffered two world wars after conquering the Muslim lands.”

IMPORTANT NOTE: The CAIR legal attack on WND’s author is far from over.WND needs your help in supporting the defense of “Muslim Mafia” co-author P. David Gaubatz, as well as his investigator son Chris, against CAIR’s lawsuit. The book’s revelations have led to formal congressional demands for three different federal investigations of CAIR. In the meantime, however, someone has to defend these two courageous investigators who have, at great personal risk, revealed so much about this dangerous group. Although WND has procured the best First Amendment attorneys in the country for their defense, we can’t do it without your help. Muslims draw a line in the sand in DC.

President Obama and Israel: Looming confrontations - And a betrayalagainst Israel

CANDIDLY SPEAKING: The US and Europe are desperate for a face-saving situation to avoid confrontation with the Iranians.

One might have hoped that Obama's calamitous mishandling of recent Middle East crises, climaxing with his disastrous response to the Syrian use of chemical weapons, would have taught him a few lessons on regional politics.
Regrettably his address to the United Nations General Assembly last week proved otherwise. By reverting to his original Cairo speech - insisting that resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian peace "would have a profound and positive impact on the entire Middle East and North Africa" - Obama has caused many Israelis to question not merely his competence, but also his real intentions toward Israel.
The notion that the stability of the entire Middle East region hinges on the resolution of the Israeli- Palestinian conflict is utterly absurd. Our conflict has no bearing on the complex and far more problematic conflicts and pressure points surrounding us: the struggle between Sunnis and Shi'ites; the resurgence of al-Qaida; the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood; the persecution and murder of Christians throughout the Muslim world; the threat of a nuclear Iran; the chaos in Libya and Yemen; the upheavals in Egypt; the global Islamic terror attacks extending from New York to Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Mali, and most recently Kenya; and above all, the carnage in Syria. To place responsibility for regional stability on Israel in the midst of this chaos is a terrible misreading of reality.
To compound matters, Obama linked the Iranian nuclear threat and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, treating them with equal importance - a clear signal that the US expects Israel to make major concessions to the Palestinians in return for "undertakings" to prevent the Iranians from obtaining a nuclear bomb.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu must have been bitterly disappointed. He has bent over backward in efforts to please Obama. At Obama's urging, he extended a humiliating apology to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the killing of the Turkish terrorists seeking to violently breach Israel's maritime arms blockade against Gaza. Yet when Erdogan subsequently refused to fulfill his undertakings, Obama failed even to reprimand him.
Netanyahu outraged most Israelis by capitulating to extreme US pressure and releasing Palestinian terrorists, many of whom were mass murderers.
He also encouraged AIPAC to support the president in Congress on the Syrian issue - an act that backfired after Obama equivocated and then withdrew his request for congressional support.
Yet Obama disregarded all Netanyahu's efforts and once again left him in the cold. Ignoring the asymmetry of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, he complimented both parties for "having demonstrated a willingness to take significant political risks" - explaining that Israel had released large numbers of hard-core terrorists (an act that no US government would conceivably contemplate) and bracketing this with the reciprocal Palestinian "concession": to engage in negotiations with the Israelis! Does he really believe that Israel releasing mass murderers and the Palestinians consenting to engage in negotiations amount to equivalent political risks? When Obama glibly proclaimed that "friends of Israel, including the United States, must recognize that Israel's security as a Jewish and democratic state depends upon the realization of a Palestinian state," he ignored the dangers Israel would face if, as is almost certain, Palestine became a failed rogue state and served as a launching pad for terrorists and states like Iran committed to Israel's destruction.
Nor did Obama even mention the visceral hatred and incitement to violence that continues to be promoted at all levels of PA society, making genuine peace inconceivable.
Obama's desperate renewed "appeal" to the Iranians, pleading with them to engage in dialogue and foolishly reiterating that he did not consider regime change an objective was also profoundly disappointing.
The new Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, in stark contrast to his deranged predecessor, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has launched an extraordinary charm offensive. Cynically oozing goodwill, he has referred to the employment of nuclear weapons as a crime against humanity and sought to divert attention from the Iranian nuclear threat by demanding that Israel join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty with other "enlightened" states like Iraq, Syria and Libya.
With a forked tongue, he has conveyed reassuring messages, encouraging protracted negotiations.
It should be recalled that in 2005, while serving as national security adviser and head nuclear negotiator, Rouhani brazenly lied concerning Iran's genuine nuclear intentions. And just prior to departing for New York, he was photographed speaking at a military parade in front of a sign that read "Israel must cease to exist."
Nor, despite all his sweet talk, has Rouhani offered a single concession. Clearly he is eager to talk and negotiate. But unless the ayatollah decides otherwise, the centrifuges will continue spinning until Iran achieves its nuclear objective.
Meanwhile, sensitive to his master Ayatollah Ali Khamenei or a backlash from his hardline opponents in Iran, Rouhani humiliatingly spurned a pathetic US effort to orchestrate an "impromptu" handshake at the UN, stating that it would be premature. That did not deter Obama from telephoning him as he was about to leave for Iran, congratulating him on his election and praising his "constructive statements" on the nuclear issue.
The US and Europe are desperate for a face-saving situation to avoid confrontation with the Iranians.
They ignore the ultimate result of the buildup of underground nuclear facilities and ballistic missiles.
Furthermore, the bitter reality is that after Obama's inept zigzagging in relation to Syria, his threat that the US is "determined to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear bomb" and will if necessary "use all elements of our power, including military force," rings hollow and is unlikely to be taken seriously by the Iranians - or anyone else.
It must be deeply frustrating for Netanyahu to see the rogue state of Iran courted by the US and Europe, while Israel, a democracy and genuine ally of the US, is treated so shabbily. The chilling parallels with the betrayal of Czechoslovakia and Chamberlain's policies of appeasement and "peace in our time" during the late 1930s will prey on our minds in the months to come.
Netanyahu will seek to pierce through Rouhani's sweet talk at the UN. He will raise skepticism about Rouhani's tactics and urge the world to prevent the Iranians from emulating the North Koreans, who achieved their nuclear objectives by similar means.
He will also demand full transparency and verification, should any agreement be reached with Iran. For these expressions of objective reality and bare security necessities, he will undoubtedly be depicted as a spoiler by naive and euphoric US and global leaders seeking justification for their inaction against Iran.
He will also resist pressures from the Obama administration for additional fundamental unilateral concessions to the Palestinians. But unlike his political opponents on the Right accusing him of cowardice, Netanyahu - like all Israeli leaders since the time of Ben-Gurion - realizes that Israel is dependent on a superpower and that today the support of the US both politically and militarily is crucial.
Netanyahu also recognizes that for all his failings, Obama, with the strong encouragement of Congress, continues to provide Israel with the military necessities that no other nation could provide.
Israel has a vested interest in a strong America employing its superpower status to maintain global stability. We are not obliged to behave as a vassal state. But we must act prudently. While resisting pressures to concede on matters impacting our security, we must demonstrate our appreciation of American support and be willing to make concessions on issues that Americans perceive as impacting their interests.
The next nine months will be challenging, especially if Obama retains his fixation that he can resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict by May 2014.
There is no basis for any realistic settlement beyond an interim arrangement. Even aside from Hamas and the extraordinary turbulence in the region, it is inconceivable that an agreement could be achieved concerning issues such as the Arab refugee right of return. If Abbas himself were willing to compromise (and he is not), he would be assassinated within a matter of days.
This is a time for our leaders, including President Shimon Peres and the Likud hawks, to stand united.
Repeated statements refuting the positions adopted by the prime minister, calling for annexation of territories or opposing a two-state solution, undermine our global position. Such behavior enables the Palestinians to distort reality and shift the blame to Israel for the inevitable breakdown that will result from their intransigency and refusal to coexist genuinely with us.
It is unconscionable that even during this turbulent period, with the upheavals in Syria and Egypt, the Obama administration blinds itself to the real barriers to peace and exploits the Iranian nuclear threat as a vehicle to pressure Israel to maintain this Alice-in-Wonderland negotiation charade. By demanding that we make further unilateral territorial concessions in the absence of ironclad security (which is currently impossible), the US is pressuring us to gamble with our lives and future.
