As with Israeli, US and other allies, UK forces are always under scrutiny, not by the enemy but by the very systems they fight and die for.
A recording of the moments a British Royal Marine allegedly "executed" a captured Afghan national has been released by a military court.
That's nice of the British legal system.
Three men - known only as marines A, B and C - are appearing before a court martial charged with killing the unknown person on or around September 15 2011 while on patrol in Afghanistan. They rightfully deny the charges.
These brave soldiers had been enduring hard battle leading up to these events and they hardly rounded up villages, matched the inhabitants off and murdered them in freshly dug graves did they? This is post heat of battle incidents and the British legal system should be ashamed.
A gunshot is heard on the newly-released audio recording shortly before Marine A is heard saying: "Shuffle off this mortal coil, you ****."
He is then heard saying: "Obviously this doesn't go anywhere fellas ... I've just broken the Geneva Convention."
This is war people, things happen in war that otherwise wouldn't happen in peacetime. The Taliban murder children. Rape, beheadings and murder if horrific kinds occur at Taliban hands yet the British and other western justice systems care little for this. In fact on the contrary they give away money, legal aid and grants to terrorists.
The whole event was filmed by a camera mounted on the helmet of one of the three commandos. The judge in the case has refused to release the footage, but has agreed that the audio can be made public.
