Terror Suspect 'May Not Be Figure In Burka'
The leader of the mosque where a terror suspect disappeared has told Sky News he has doubts over the CCTV image released of a person under a burka.
Mohammed Ahmed Mohamed, 27, gave officers the slip on Friday afternoon at the Al Noor Cultural and Community centre and police believe he left the building disguised in the traditional woman's clothing.
Many worshippers are wondering whether the man they knew as "Little Mo" due to his small stature is actually the person in the CCTV image released by the Metropolitan Police.
Predictably centre leader Khalid Rashad who was approached by panicked police officers looking for their suspect on Friday afternoon, told Sky News: "I'm still not 100% convinced, the congregation is saying to me that it seems like a bigger figure.
No one obviously asked if this statement might be prejudiced in any way and for any reason?
"There are many people in this centre who are not totally convinced.
(Surprise surprise)
"Although the police officer is looking at the time, he is working by time, everything is done by this time or that time so he is putting two and two together and saying by the time everything happened it had to be him."
The Metropolitan Police confirmed to Sky News that they are confident the figure in the image is that of Mohamed, who they are still trying to find.
Ports and airports are on alert for Mohamed who is accused of having links with Somali terror group al Shabaab.
Mr Rashad insisted he had no idea that he was under surveillance.
"It knocked me for six," he said.
"Co-operating with the police is not an issue.
Yeah right!
